I’m a professional dancer and wannabe yogi. Art and culture are at the centre of my world, and always at the top of my to-do list in any country. I love walking the streets of a new place, photography, eating local street food and writing about my experiences. I read so many blogs while planning my first backpacking trip to Thailand that I was inspired to start my own, to give people like me a helping hand planning their adventures.
Here’s a pic of my dancing days taken by John Sanders
I’ve always travelled but not always appreciated it… 5 years spent in the Royal Navy frequenting the inside of bars and strip clubs around the world made up most of my early travel experience! When I think of the incredible places I visited during my time in the Navy I could kick myself now for not really appreciating or exploring further than the duty bar in the port.
Like many people I’ve done the normal beach holidays/ Ibiza party holidays but I’ve always loved wandering around religious buildings and ancient ruins (When I was 8 I decided I wanted to be an archaeologist and proceeded to dig up my garden looking for ancient artefacts). But it wasn’t until a visit to Vienna a few years ago when I stayed in a hostel for 3 weeks mixing with backpackers did I start seriously thinking about travelling, or more importantly travelling solo!
So fast forward to now and having dipped my toe in the pool of backpacking and solo travel I’m have started a new chapter in my life as a nomadic wanderer, travelling full time and working location independently. I’m currently exploring Central America, follow along on my Instagram for the most up to date pictures from my travels.
I love feedback and chatting to fellow wanderers so please get in touch, I always write back!
