Bali, Indonesia, 15 June 2015 – GrabTaxi, Southeast Asia’s largest mobile transport app, announced today the introduction of GrabCar Economy (“GrabCar”) in Bali. Safety remains our top priority

This new initiative by GrabTaxi Indonesia is aimed at introducing a new segment of transportation for users in Bali to enjoy comfortable and most importantly, safe rides when travelling around Bali. As a trusted brand, GrabTaxi Indonesia is aiming to create a safer environment for locals, party-goers and vacationers on the island.

“We take safety very seriously at GrabTaxi and GrabCar, so we conduct the most stringent background checks and tests to ensure our drivers meet the highest standards in the region. All our drivers have the required licenses and permits needed to operate this service. We also personally ensure all vehicles are roadworthy and we work with the relevant authorities to conduct detailed criminal checks on every driver,” said GrabCar Bali spokesperson.

Working closely with regulators and the authorities in Indonesia, GrabCar is a completely legal private hire service that works with licensed transport companies to provide chauffeured cars.

GrabCar Bali spokesperson shared, “By engaging the authorities and local regulators, as well as working with the local licensed transport providers, GrabCar offers a legitimate travel option and one of the safest methods to travel around Bali. We understand that we need to work with the authorities to ensure a safer and more efficient transport ecosystem, which benefits everyone in the long-term.”

Offering peace of mind

Certainty is one of the hallmarks of GrabCar. Therefore, GrabCar consumers are guaranteed transparency of fares with each GrabCar ride. This means that before passengers confirm their booking, they are already aware of the exact fare upfront. This ensures that passengers are not given a rude shock at the end of their ride. The fare is calculated based on distance, location, time, and demand, while payment can be made via cash or credit card.

Fixed fares are crucial to ensuring a hassle-free ride for passengers. “Booking a GrabCar is very similar to booking a taxi when using the GrabTaxi mobile app. What is different is that rather than see an estimated cost of ride, there is a fixed fare for the ride, so our passenger knows exactly how much they should pay. This makes the ride much easier and convenient with no haggling or requests to turn on the meter,” said GrabCar Bali spokesperson

To celebrate the launch of GrabCar Beta in Bali, GrabTaxi Indonesia is offering free rides to and from popular locations around the island. From today (15 June) till 30 June 2015, passengers can book GrabCars to and from locations like Kuta, Seminyak, Legian and other popular areas.
