Are you an outdoor lover wondering what to do in Spain? Consider joining a safari in Doñana National Park, a 116,000-hectare area. The park is mainly in Huelva but stretches to Seville and Cádiz. Did You Get Travel Insurance Yet?

The Insurance companies I recommend are Hey Mondo and Safety Wing

Hey Mondo is great if you are looking for a great value flexible policy. They offer single-trip cover, annual multi-trip cover, and long-term travel cover. Safety Wing is great value, with monthly coverage starting at $45.08. It’s super easy to use, and it just renews each month. I currently use them as they offer me free cover for my son as part of my policy.

Read my full travel insurance post here, where I go into detail about all companies.

8. Enjoy a Cliff View Along the Basque Country

Discover Top 10 Things to Do in Spain

Many people visit the Basque Country to eat pintxos in San Sébastien, tour Playa de la Concha, or marvel at Bilbao’s Guggenheim Museum architecture. However, they forget to walk around the cliff known as Ruta del Flysch, a true hidden gem.

Many tourists miss this spot, so it’s usually relatively quiet. The 10-kilometer cliff extends from Zumaia to Deba and Mutriku. Some tourists hike the entire length, which takes 1-2 hours. If you do not want to hike, rent a boat and savor the coastal views.

9. Try the Spanish Dish “Ensaimasda”

Discover Top 10 Things to Do in Spain

One of my favorite things to do in Spain is try new foods. The best place to sample “ensaimasda,” a traditional Spanish pastry, is Palma de Mallorca. The El Fornet de la Soca Bakery stands apart from the rest. It sells high-quality pastries made with fresh, organic flour. While the ensaimasda contains pork lard, making it unsuitable for vegans, there are many vegetarian treats to satisfy your savory or sweet tooth.

10. Enjoy a Mesmerizing View of Alhambra in Granada

Alhambra is a gorgeous Moorish palace and fortress. The best place to admire it is from Mirador de San Nicolás, opposite the hilly Albaicín neighborhood.

You can also admire it from afar at the Mirador de Los Carvajales in Placeta Carvajales. Grab a drink or bite to eat at El Huerto de Juan Ranas, where you can witness the sunset palace views.
